Nagito Komaeda's hair.

Thinking about Nagito Komaeda's original hair colour...
So it's, mostly, canon that his hair is due to his disease, his character profiling in the official DR artbook saying it "doesn't look like it belongs on a living person".
To be fair, this is an insane way to describe his condition. I don’t know if the translation was done wrong or something but… I’ll just assume it's making fun of him.
If not, maybe his hair was dyed ???? Whatever, but it’s obvious it’s not his original hair colour.
His disease being his malignant lymphoma, if we choose to believe what he's saying in his free time event is true, which it most likely is, he doesn’t lie a lot.

I assume it’s exaggerated in the game, and his hair is like, really white because if it was grey it’d look more like he was supposed to be old, rather than sickly ill.

"shoulder length" Assuming it hasn't been cut in a while, and therefore the original hair colour is furthest from the roots.
Though, hair does get white/greyer due to melanin loss, so it could be possible his hair, even further from the roots, is still lighter than it should be.
Right before entering hope's peak he was diagnosed with "Stage 3 malignant lymphoma"
I do find it quite weird that he says ‘right before’ entering hope’s peak, did he just not notice his hair going white.
Also, well, he clearly didn’t go through chemo so I guess he just trusted his luck. Whatever.
In the Nagito Komaeda Spin off Manga we see him as a kid, assuming he’s not ill at this point. (Note, this could also just not be canon, but it’s official, so I’m taking it as canon.) This could show what his original hair colour was… if it wasn’t monochrome.
We can assume his hair is a light colour from this though.
However, the manga in general doesn’t show his fade at the tips of his hair, so we can kinda assume from this that his hair as a child is the same as the colour of the tip of his hair, maybe a little darker.
Alright. From what we’ve gathered so far, we know that his hair is so white due to his condition,
The easiest way to find out Nagito's original hair colour would be to colour pick the the very bottom of his hair, annoyingly, throughout the multiple games,anime and manga he’s in, this changes a lot!
Also sometimes it’s just shaded with purple. But that’s in merchandise and done because shading white is usually done with either teal or purple.
In models, his hair is mostly a pinkish, reddish off colour. Not a plain white. I’m also gonna assume this is for aesthetics, and not colour pick models.
They’re all different! Wow! They’re all a weird reddish,brownish,pinkish colour though, so that gets us somewhere! It’s really hard to pick the colour that’s furthest from his roots because it’s at the bottom of his head, and is shaded harshly. So…
Okay i know, this is a weird image to use to check nagito’s hair colour, but it has the least shading done on the back/bottom of his hair, which always seems to have the most colour on it but is always shaded in.
Also his hair is down/wet so it’s really easy to see which part of the hair is the bottom.
I think these are probably the closest we can get to his original hair colour, I can colour pick 100 images and I will never get a definite answer.
I guess his hair could be darker than the options picked because of the loss of melanin in his hair. Pink is just a tint/shade of red, so, yeah, his original hair colour could be red. But I feel brown would work well because of the mirror Naegi thing.
Non story wise, Nagito was designed to be a mirror version of Makoto Naegi, his hair could originally be brown like Naegi’s.
Darkest Nagito hair part colour picked + Naegis hair colour picked side by side waow… so similar..!!
In the end, even if we edit Nagito to have his ‘original’ hair colour, he’d still never look like he would without his illness because of how much it affects his appearance.

This makes all of my research pointless, but who cares, maybe one day Kodaka will make Nagito’s official hair colour canon. Maybe he did but only in JP… I dunno… I’m closing my 30 tabs now.
